Tuning guitar-all strings to D#?

There’s this song I want to play that has the fifth string tuned to A#, and the rest of the strings tuned to D#. It’s a high-pitched guitar part, which means (I assume) that in the case of the lower strings, E and such, it’ll be nearly an octave higher. How can I do this on a basic string tuner, and will the tension break my strings?

I really don’t think its possible to tune any string an octave higher than its intended natural notes. So tuning a low E (6th String) to an octave high will be pointless.

You can however, do this… Use a 4th string in place of your 6th string. So that you can get the next octave relatively easily.

But I’d suggest you look into the song you’re trying to play again. I’m pretty sure they’re using some kind of octave pedal or effect along with the different tuning.
