Electric Guitar Questions?
Okay I have a Few Questions. I’m thinking about Buying an Electric Guitar. Now i can play the Acoustic Fairly well but I need to know what to look for when buying an Electric. I want somthing really good.. I dont want something like a begginers guitar that’ll only do so much..I want a guitar that’ll do it all. But…still isnt beyond Buying range…Like…I want it for a cheap price.
What is the little bar thing at the base of the high strings? I hear its called a tremblo bar but…whats it do? How do i get the Electric guitar to Sound Diff? like..from Blues…to Country. to Rock and stuff?
Any other information I might wanna know would be helpful.
Can The tremblo Bar be removed and Reattached?
first, the guitar you pick should ultimately depend on how it feels to you. it should inspire you to pick it up and play it. i play an ibanez and i really like it, but there are several good brands out there.
things to look for are the number of frets, the width of the neck, type of wood, pickups, the sound, and how well you can move around on it. dont worry about strings, those can be replaced for 5 or 6 bucks with whatever you want.
the tremolo bar (also called whammy bar) can be pushed or pulled to adjust the pitch up or down on the spot. its for effect. this is something i dont particularly like since i usually rest my palm on the bridge, which causes guitars with whammies to change pitch when its not intended.
there are many ways to make your guitar sound different. the knobs on the guitar adjust how low or how high the guitar sounds. the big differences in sound, however, come from amps and effect pedals. most amps come with at least a clean and a distortion setting. you can also get multi effect pedals or single effect pedals to get certain sounds you want.
my advice is get a good guitar and a basic amp that sounds good. as your funds allow you can upgrade to a more powerful amp and add effect pedals.
